Choosing photos for canvas prints

The key element for your canvas print is the subject. In addition to high-quality materials and colours, the ideal image is crucial in order to make your creation a real masterpiece.

Your photo canvas is printed on 340 g/m² of strong linen, which is then stretched onto a solid frame, made of real wood. Pixum takes into account the size of your image: If one of the edges is at least 80 cm long, we reinforce the 2 cm thick frame up to 4 cm.

Linen, as a fabric, has a relatively coarse structure. The print of your picture onto the fabric creates a harmonious surface effect, which makes your canvas print look like a painting. For particularly bright and brilliant colours, twelve colors are used when printing. The linen is stretched across the wooden frame and is stapled and fastened at the back with brackets to hold it in place. To keep your canvas perfectly stretched, you will receive eight wedges, which you can insert into the wooden frame to alter the tension of the linen. Pixum offers you several different ways to create your unique Pixum Canvas Print. You can directly upload your image to the Pixum website and can have it converted into a stunning photo canvas. However, you do not have any other design options when using this online editor. The Pixum Photo Book app works in the same way.
